Tonya Dueck, co-founder of Advanced Therapy Workshops, has been a full-time RMT in Alberta since 2016, graduating from Vicars School of Massage Therapy with honours in Remedial Massage Therapy. In that time, she has focused her practice on athletes/sport-related injuries, pre- and post-surgical clients, as well as rehabilitative exercise education. Tonya has spent the majority of her massage career working in multi-disciplinary clinics alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors, and other massage therapists.
Before enrolling into school for Massage Therapy, Tonya completed her Certificate in Fitness Leadership at the Grande Prairie Regional College (now Northwestern Polytechnic), and has been able to use that knowledge and education into her massage practice. Since becoming an RMT, Tonya has always focused on including her clients in with treatment plans and educating them on how further progress can be made by teaching clients safe and effective homecare and stretch/strengthen regimes. This passion for education eventually lead her to obtaining a teaching position at the Alberta College of Massage Therapy in Grande Prairie, Alberta, for both first and second year classes, back in January of 2019.
Tonya has always strived to uphold the highest standards for RMT’s, which is where her passion for curriculum and course development grew. In January of 2022, along with her business partner, Alyssa Hendry, Advanced Therapy Workshops was created.
Her vision for “ATW” is to provide quality education to fellow healthcare professionals to enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge to further set the standard for the highest quality of client care and treatment available.
